MAGIC BDN. European Basketball Capital.
Its most distinctive element will be a giant basketball 36 metres in diameter, within which the museum will be located. This sphere made with a variety of materials will contain two floors connected to each other and to the shopping and leisure area below it. It will be supported by a core for vertical communications rising from the underground parking floors to the upper floor of the sphere. In urban planning terms, this scheme will reinforce the line from the port and the new sea front to the Municipal Sports Centre, the headquarters of DKV-Joventut. The scheme includes the creation of a centre devoted to sport, leisure and shopping with a total floor area of 48,569 m2. The shopping area will occupy 12,500 m2 and the underground car park will have 1,239 places. A hotel with a floor area of 6,000 m2 will be built at a later date. |
